Socratis E. Socratous

Socratis E. Socratous was educated in The London School of Economics and Political Science achieving a BSc (Hons) in Economics in 1988. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton in London qualifying as an ACA in 1992 and was awarded the certificate of fellowship (FCA) in 2003. In 2000 he was awarded a short term Scholarship for the USA through the Fullbright Commission. He trained in Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. on Shares, Option and Futures, on Conflict Resolution and on Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission procedures regulations and controls. In June 2004 he was awarded by the Cyprus Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission a certificate of Professional Competence allowing him to be an Investment Portfolio Manager. In July 2014 he became a qualified mediator for financial and commercial conflicts by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce.

Socratis has worked both in the United Kingdom and Cyprus. His work experience covers key positions with Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants in London, The General Insurance Company of Cyprus as the financial controller and Ygia Polyclinic Private Hospital PLC as the Managing Director.

As an entrepreneur, he co-founded Sykopetritis, Ioannides, Socratous (SIS) Chartered Accountants and V.S. Vision Investment Consultants, specializing in business and investment advice. Also he is the founder and currently the Managing Director of Revita Turnarounds Ltd, a company specialising in offering Business Consultancy and Turnaround Solutions to companies, Valuation of Businesses and Personal Consultation to Boards and CEOs, as well as Mediation Services.

Socratis serves on the Board of Directors of a number of companies and Institutions and he is the author of two books.
